Aunt Joan’s Caddy Corners Quilt

Started end of June/beginning of July 2006.
My aunt had been in and out of the hospital over the past 18 months or so. (Actually, she’s still in the hospital as of 11 October 2006.) For a time, everyone was really worried about her passing away so my Mom decided she’d go visit her sisters in NB Canada. I volunteered to make a quilt.

I had originally purchased this fabric bundle and added the green to make the quilt. I was thinking of doing a Yellow Brick Road quilt top but I couldn’t find my pattern and my LQS didn’t have any. I found the Caddy Corners pattern by Ellen Replogle and decided to do it instead.

First quilt on PC Quilter
My aunt’s quilt was the first one I quilted with my PC Quilter. I used an allover cabbage rose pattern from Ellen @ Munnich Design. Here it is on the Hinterberg Stretch Frame being sewn out with a Brother 1500s.

Another close up after the binding was on
I *barely* finished sewing on the binding before my Mom had to leave for the airport. My aunt(s) loved it. The pattern itself is quick and easy so I purchased another fabric bundle to make another.
