WIP progress report #4
Okay, now I have crossed 5 things off my original January 2008 WIP list, but I also added 1. . . I know I’m not suppose to be thinking finish 2 and then add 1 to the WIP list (that’s my friend Cindy’s rationale for the year); but I have a really good reason for adding another one to my WIP list. (*Really,* I do!) I have always liked the quilt, Oklahoma Backroads, on Bonnie’s site and since that’s where I’m moving, I *need* to add to it my list, right? I’m not “officially” going to start it, I’m just purposely cutting up scraps and setting them aside to make it after I move. LOL

WIP finish #2
I finished this up last night and just got it ironed and the picture taken. I got the block pattern, Happy Scrappy Houses from Bonnie @ Quiltville. I wanted to make a small wallhanging with words about standing out from the crowd fused on the borders. Two of the houses are different than the “crowd” — one is a *little* different and one is *totally* different.

When I get back to this one, I’m going to fuse the words in the borders, hand quilt it, and make a piped binding. (Who knows what happened to the picture of the finished quilt top, because that one up there isn’t it. . .) [sigh]

Uh, oh. . .
I received the wrong item in my order from Hancocks of Paducah. The wrong item was suppose to be the fabric for Nathan & Koren’s Wedding Quilt–one of my WIPs that *needs* to get done. I had ordered the Oak Leaves and Reel Fat Quarter pack by Terry Clothier Thompson. I think it has about 48 FQs in it. I got the Oak Leaves and Reel Convenience Quilt. Definitely not the same thing–it’s like a cheater cloth panel thing-ey that’s suppose to make a quilt top that looks like appliqué. [sigh] Not at all what I had in mind for a quilt for them. Their’s needs to be something with a more contemporary feel.
I hope this project doesn’t end up being one with quite a story attached. I don’t need “one of those” projects right now! Hopefully a call to customer service tomorrow will get this all straightened out. Quickly!

WIP finish
Yay!! I finished Caddy Corners #2. This pattern is a Laps from Fats one by Ellen Replogle of Good Intentions. I’m adding this to my To Be Quilted list because I have the backing and binding finished for it also (2 things off my WIP list!!). I have an oak leaf/acorn machine quilting pattern to use for this one. Here’s a picture of the finished top:

I made it smaller than the pattern because I was using an Acorn Hollow FQ pack from Nancy Halverson. It’s only 6 x 6 blocks instead of 7 x 7. But a 12 count FQ pack works perfectly for it. It measures about 65″ x 65″.
